How can you record the knowledge of your organization?

  • Every organization has significant knowledge that makes them gain a lead in the competition, but how is this recorded within your organization? When this knowledge resides with some employees and is not recorded, it is usually known as “tribal knowledge,” and if this can be a strength, it can be at risk of being forgotten when these personals leave the company.

  • So, how can you simply record the knowledge of your organization? Here are some ideas:
    • Some concepts or things are learned during a project. This experience can be captured by creating a report that discusses the successes and failures of a project, which can then be logged in a knowledge database. Such records will help in completing such projects effectively.

  • Taking Advantage of the Recorded Organizational Knowledge
  • When organizational knowledge is recorded, one should take advantage of this resource, particularly when bringing any changes.

Implementing quality checklists and work instructions can be met with resistance, but if all concerned personnel know how important this documentation is, implementation will be easier.

Similarly, the training requirements should be implemented as soon as they have been produced. Systems should be upgraded to incorporate the training for the implementation of work instructions and quality checklists. This incorporation will ensure that when a new person is recruited to the team, he/she will be provided with the most up-to-date training to start the job.

The knowledge database is an exclusive idea in that it is a input mechanism into the design job, so one needs to update the system of design process to make sure that design engineers are able to take advantage from the lessons which have been incorporated into knowledge database to ensure that no one bypasses learning or improvement that has been recognized and recorded. Personnel should learn to utilize this system so that they may gradually progress in their jobs.

The Code of Silence Ends Here

As outrage burns over the murder of George Floyd, my commitment to police reforms & accountability has never been stronger. I’m outraged because the actions of those officers do not represent our honorable profession. I’m outraged by the depravity shown by Derek Chauvin under the color of authority, and we all instantly knew every cop was going to wear that crime for a long time. Rightly so.

Not because all or even most women and men who serve as police would ever condone such despicable behavior. That’s a given. What brands us is the internal malfeasance that keeps us from removing such people long before they commit their violent act or crime that stains everyone in a uniform. Readmore...

66 Days in Captivity

It’s a terrible experience to be in captivity for over 66 days, imagine the kind of terror, the kind of torment that an innocent soul will be forced into. This is inhumane and those responsible to this kind of act should be brought to justice.
It’s a brief story about someone’s experience and the part of the second person has been cut out because it was a phone call conversation not an interview, and the focus is maintained just on the person of interest till the end of the conversation.

We thank God since He saved us from this misery. The second person was congratulating him while the conversation was going on and he insisted that God is the savior. Expression upon the experience he just had was that the story is a good one for him, indeed the story is sweet at my side. I swear to God, whosoever knew where is been called Gadar Yellow (Yellow's bridge), Gadar Gyadi (Gyadi's bridge), and that of Shadi or the most popular place called Birnin su/Kuyan Bana (these are the name of the popular hideouts of these notorious bandits).
I swear to whom my breath is with, those hideouts have been destroyed by the army today (no specific date provided of this event but the operation happened in the month of June 2020). As I am telling you now, if your days in this world are not taken by God then no-one can take it, that's it!

There's no other long explanation that I can give to anyone about my survival from the hands of these bad guy's except that my life belonged to the Higher power and He did save me from this captivity.
There are two places, where they kept us and the actual place they are staying, we are in two different places. When the fighter jets came, the bandits and everyone thought they were just surveilling as the usual helicopter’s use to come and hover over us and then go away. But this time was different, the first one that came wasn't the only one. Surprisingly not knowing to us another one was just behind it. Maybe the first was just coordinating the assault while the second one was to mount the attack and that was exactly what happened.
As you get to the exact location of Gadar Yellow, there's a small settlement there where the Yellow man is building (maybe building a house or something of that nature). I swear to God, today...? Those places have been destroyed completely. If you've never heard of a bomb blast, then you will think the sky is breaking into pieces and falling down unto you at the same time. If you know how bomb blast is, today my breath was going on and off. I don't want to ever witnessed such an event ever or even anyone I like to be in such situation as I was.

What made their ambush successful was that they didn't come in the afternoon or evening but, they came in earlier than 8 o'clock in the morning and it was at exactly that time they started the operation. When the bandits are vulnerable, when they haven't started anything including breakfast.
At the moment, all over my body is bruises and cuts from the stones and other sharp objects. I was crawling and falling into the bush while trying to escape from that horror.
The jet's came more than two time's for surveillance in previous day's but, this last time was the final one and the attack unknown to them. These place, is where the Bandits are with their families and whatever they needed. The hit was at exactly where they are which gave us the grace to run for our lives before the attack reached our exact location.

I was held captive for exactly sixty-six (66) days now at their mercy until today. I fainted more than three times when I was with them, they will assault me and the next thing is I have blacked out totally. The army took pictures of my body, itself is a story to tell. I'm glad that we get to see another day out of that misery and seeing them getting exactly what they deserved, it has been a long time coming I'm sure of it.
I've seen dead bodies, different sort of weapons, and I would've taken such items if I have a bad mind or something of that nature. I've jumped passed dead one's with gun's on their arms, those that their lives hang in the balance, and it was really a terrible experience. I knew when the operation is done at their side ours might be the next or there might be a problem. So I started running for my life before that happens. I was running and falling at the same time until I found myself out of that area.

Here's what I have been thinking while in captivity, if to say the army and the air force will join forces working together, then the kind of sweeping they will do to that place or any other place like that will be unimaginable. These Bandits came from different parts of the country and even neighboring borders. Especially from the northern part of Nigeria, some from Niger Republic, and in the northern Nigeria (Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna state), and Kwara state that's not even in the North. They came all together terrorizing people, killing, abducting, and other bad things. Nonetheless, today most of them are dead and those that escape may die in the wild unless if they get something to survive on because as it is they can't enter any nearby settlement.

Counter-protesters ‘intent on causing chaos’ run into Hyde Park

Dozens of counter-demonstrators ran into Hyde Park despite the Metropolitan Police trying to keep them separate from Black Lives Matter protesters.

Sky News correspondent Noel Phillips said a convoy of police tried to catch up with the counter-protesters – and said it appeared they were “intent on causing chaos and havoc”.

“There was a small altercation we witnessed when they entered the park – they were fighting with a young person,” he reported.

THE TAXI DRIVER'S DAUGHTER (must read)

At the medical faculty of Alexandria University, a lady professor walks into Auditorium no 7 and greets her students, *“Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatuLlahi wa barakatuh.”*
The students reply in unison, *“Walaykumus salam wa rahmatuLlahi wa barakatuh.”*
The professor addresses the class, “How is everyone? Today is the first day of the second term, and it is my good fortune to be with you this term. Before I introduce myself to you there is something I want to tell you. If there is anyone whose circumstances do not allow him to purchase my textbook, he should simply write me a note after class and send it to my office. He will be excused from buying the book.”

A student asks, “How come, professor? All the professors before you made it clear that those who don’t buy the textbooks will fail the year.”

She replies, “That does not apply to me. I am speaking only of my own textbook.”

A student laughingly remarks, “In that case, professor, everyone is going to claim difficult circumstances and no one will buy the book.”

And the professor replies, also with a laugh, “No problem. I will allow it. This being my first day with you, let me tell you a little story.” And she began…
-----------------0-----------------

20 years ago, before most of you were even born, there was a microbus taxi driver named Ahmad Abdul Tawwab. He had a daughter just beginning her first year of medical school, more or less the same age as you. As he was taking her to university one morning he gave her sandwiches which he had prepared:
*“Fatima, take these sandwiches. You can have them for lunch.”*
Fatima laughed and replied, *“Daddy, ever since first term you have been giving me sandwiches, which I take with me to college and then just bring back home. Daddy, I’m not at school anymore. I am in first year med school!”*

Uncle Ahmad said, “So what? You still have to eat, don’t you? Take the sandwiches and have them for lunch.”

Fatima: “Dearest dearest Daddy, it won’t help. The other students will laugh at me when they see me with sandwiches!”

Uncle Ahmad: “Ok, then take these fifty pounds and use it to buy yourself some lunch. And buy something to prepare for supper.”

Fatima: “You are truly the best father in the world. I know that from the day Mommy died you have only been eating from my cooking.”

Uncle Ahmad: “You cook just like your mother, although you were very young when she died. I didn’t have to teach you anything.”

Fatima: “But Daddy, didn’t you tell me you had to teach Mommy how to cook because she barely knew how? So you taught me too, and therefore my cooking has to be good.”

Uncle Ahmad, smiling sadly: “There was no one like your mother.”

Fatima: “Of course, of course. She has always been the love of your heart.”

Uncle Ahmad: “She was my heart itself, my dear… But where is the time going? We still have to get to university. Come, let’s go!”

Fatima: “Daddy, every year you have been dropping me off right at the school gate, and this year you’re dropping me at the university gates. I am so glad that I could realize the dreams you and Mommy had for me.”

Uncle Ahmad: “Allah have mercy on her soul. What time do you want me to come and get you?”

Fatima: “I am not sure what time lectures come out. So I’d rather come over to you at the terminus when I am done.”

Uncle Ahmad: “Ok, my dear, I will wait for you there, in sha Allah.”
-----------------&-----------------

At the terminus.
Uncle Galal, another taxi driver: “How are you, father of the doctor?”

Uncle Ahmad: “Al-hamdu liLlah, Galal, you good man. What is my round number today?”

Uncle Galal: “You are on Round number 5 today. But the weather looks bad. Seems like it’s going to rain cats and dogs today.”

Uncle Ahmad: “Al-hamdu liLlah, rain is good. It gives me a chance to earn something this evening.”

Uncle Galal: “Allah be with you, Ahmad!”
-----------------$----------------

The hours pass and Fatima comes to her father at the terminus. He takes her home to their little house in Damanhour, together with a load of passengers. On the way they chat.

Fatima: “Daddy, I need 350 pounds tomorrow, to buy books, a stethoscope and a white lab coat.”

Uncle Ahmad: “Must it be tomorrow?”

Fatima: “Yes Daddy, that’s what the professors told us.”

Uncle Ahmad, with no idea how he was going to get this large sum of money: “Ok baby, you go home and study while I put in a bit of evening work.”

Fatima: “But the weather looks bad today, Daddy.”

Uncle Ahmad: “Its ok, baby. Allah protects.”
Dropping off the passengers at Damanhour terminus, and Fatima at home, he returned to the terminus once again.
----------------- + ----------------

There were no taxis at Damanhour terminus, but many passengers. Uncle Ahmad loaded up his taxi and headed back Alexandria. There were no taxis at Alexandria terminus as well, so he found plenty of work. From Asr till 2 in the morning he ferried passengers all over.

Eventually there were no more passengers left who he could take back with him to Damanhour. With the 200 pounds which he earned for his daughter, he returned home.
On the way home he came across a well-dressed gentleman who flagged him down.

The man: “Would you please take me to Damanhour? I will pay whatever you ask.”

Uncle Ahmad: “Get in sir, Allah bless you! First get out of the rain, we can talk afterwards.”

The gentleman got in next to Uncle Ahmad and said, “I have no money with me right now, driver. If you would take me to my house I will pay you there.”

Uncle Ahmad, without as much as glance at the man’s refined appearance and elegant clothes: “What payment are you talking about, sir? As long as Allah protects you, that is enough. I’m going to take you to your doorstep, and then I don’t need anything else. There is still good in this world, sir!”
The man looked at Uncle Ahmad in amazement. He said: I was attacked by gangsters who robbed me of my car and my money and threw me out at the place you found me at.”

Uncle Ahmad: “Really? Then let’s go to the police station and file a case.”

The man: “I just need to go home to change my clothing and check on my family. Then I will go to the police station.”

Uncle Ahmad: “Never mind the stolen car or anything else. The important thing is that you are ok. Money comes and money goes.”
----------------***----------------

As they were going along they came across a large group of people who flagged them down. Uncle Ahmad asked his passenger if it was ok for him to stop for them. He agreed. It turned out that they were abandoned in the rain when the taxi in which they were travelling, at exorbitant rates, broke down. There were more people than the taxi could carry, but Uncle Ahmad somehow or the other made some space for every man, woman and child. He took them all as far as their destination, Kafr al-Dawar, where he dropped them off, refusing to take a single cent. All he asked them was, *“Please make du’a for my daughter, Dr Fatima.”*

His remaining passenger, the distinguished looking gentleman, was intrigued. He looked at the photo which Uncle Ahmad kept on his dashboard: “Is this your daughter, Dr Fatima?”

Uncle Ahmad beamed with pride: “That’s her, my daughter the doctor.”

The man: “She looks a bit young to be a doctor.”

Uncle Ahmad: “Actually, she is not yet a doctor. She is still a first year medical student.”

They passed one of those roadside cold water machines. Uncle Ahmad stopped to take a drink and got back in.

His passenger asked: “Why would you drink from that machine instead of keeping water in your taxi?”

Uncle Ahmad: “Oh that machine! Three years ago I put up that machine as a continuous charity for my late wife, Allah rest her soul. Whenever I pass it I must drink from it.”

The man looked at Uncle Ahmad with new respect: “May Allah have mercy on her.”
-----------------@----------------

They reached Damanhour and made for the man’s house.

The man: “Please wait for me. I will just change and come with you to the police station.”

Uncle Ahmad: “No problem. I am waiting.”
The man had barely entered the house when Uncle Ahmad heard him calling in alarm. One of the gas pipes had sprung a leak into the house. The man’s wife and two children were lying unconscious from inhaling gas.

Uncle Ahmad rushed in. They carried the man’s wife and children into the taxi and rushed them off to the hospital. Once there, the lady and her children were successfully revived and stabilized.

The man: “I owe you my life and the lives of my wife and children. Just a few minutes too late and they would have been…”

He put his hand in his pocket and offered Uncle Ahmad a sum of money… which Uncle Ahmad refused!

Uncle Ahmad: “Sir, I will not accept a cent. Even if you were not robbed, and if this calamity had not befallen your family, I would still not take anything from you.”
The man couldn’t understand: “But why…?

Uncle Ahmad: “20 years ago when I bought this microbus, my wife—Allah have mercy on her—was extremely happy. She made me promise something: the last passenger of the day must always be for free, for Allah’s sake, so that Allah should protect me on the road from bad people. When I asked her why the last passenger specifically she said, because the night can be frightening and dangerous.
Uncle Ahmad went on: “Allah have mercy on her. You know, sir, people who see my microbus would think that no one would want to ride in it because it looks like it can barely make it off the terminus. But I tell you, sir, in twenty years I have only had two breakdowns.”

The man: “Ya Allah! What a good man you are! Please, you must tell me your full name. Even if you refuse to take any compensation, at the very least we are brothers now. Do please tell me your name.”

Uncle Ahmad: “The honour is all mine, sir. I am Ahmad Abdul Tawwab Ismail Ahmad.”

The man: “And your daughter on the photo, what is her name? Fatima, wasn’t it?”

Uncle Ahmad: “Yes.”

The man: “And do you have any other children?”

Uncle Ahmad: “None, sir.”

The man: “Now you know where I live, Ahmad. You and your daughter must come and visit us.”

Uncle Ahmad: “In sha Allah, we will come to see how your wife and children are doing.”

The man: “I will be waiting for you.”
-----------------∆-----------------

It was late when Uncle Ahmad got home and told his daughter of the night’s happenings.

Fatima: “Did you really manage to get only 200 of the 350 pounds, Daddy? Why did you refuse the payment? I might be thrown out of medical school tomorrow!”

Uncle Ahmad: “My daughter, listen to me. What brought you all the way to medical school and protected all the way was the last load of the night which I do for Allah’s sake. I know for a fact that Allah will compensate me for it many times over. And then, Allah’s Prophet (may Allah’s peace and salutations be upon him) tells us: ‘Whoever hides the fault of others, Allah will hide his faults on the Day of Judgement. Whoever removes the worldly difficulty of his brother, Allah will remove his difficulty on the Day of Judgement. And Allah is at the service of the slave for as long as the slave is at the service of his brother."

Fatima, knowing that she was wrong: “Allah’s Prophet has spoken the truth, may Allah’s peace and salutations be upon him. Daddy, I just fear for tomorrow. I so much want to make you proud by becoming the best doctor I can.”

Uncle Ahmad: “In sha Allah, it is all good, my child. Just go to college tomorrow with the 200 pounds and leave the rest to Allah.”

Fatima: “Yes, Daddy, I will.”
----------------¥----------------

The next day when Fatima was in class, a messenger entered her class and asked for her by name: “Would Fatima Ahmad Abdul Tawwab Ismail Ahmad please come to the Dean’s office?”
Fatima stood up in consternation: “Me?”

The messenger: “Please come with me. The Dean wants to see you.”
With all sorts of fears rushing through her mind, Fatima went up to the Dean’s office. Why did Dean want to see her? Did she do something wrong? With a heart that was beating almost audibly against her ribs, she entered the Dean’s office.

The Dean: “Are you Fatima Ahmad Abdul Tawwab Ismail Ahmad?”

Fatima, unsure of herself: “Yes, sir.”

The Dean smiled broadly: “And your father works as a taxi driver on the Alexandria-Damanhour line?”

Fatima, astonished: “Yes… but how do you know that, sir? Has something happened to my father?”

The Dean: “No, nothing of that sort. But something bad would certainly have happened to my wife and children, and had I not met your father last night after my car was stolen.”

Fatima: “Then are you the gentleman who was my father’s passenger last night, whose wife and children almost fell victim to a leaking gas pipe?”

The Dean smiled: “Yes, that was I. So now you see. I will be waiting for you and your father to visit us today.”

Fatima, extremely excited: “Oh, we will come, in sha Allah, we will certainly come, sir!”

The Dean offered Fatima profuse thanks. She then asked him permission to rejoin her class. As she was leaving he called her back.
“These are your textbooks, your lab coat, and your stethoscope. Please accept them.”

Fatima modestly tried to refuse these gifts, but the Dean absolutely insisted and simply wouldn’t take no for an answer. So she accepted.
-----------------!!!-----------------

With the story at an end, the professor addressed her students in the auditorium:
“And now it is time to introduce myself. I am Dr Fatima Ahmad Abdul Tawwab Ismail Ahmad, the taxi driver’s daughter.

#SayNo2RAPE #No-Is-No #Justice4OurSisters #Justice4Uwa

How some of our brothers see it the minute they heard the word RAPE, first thing that will come up in their mind is that decency or the environment, etc. comments like is she wearing a mini skirt? was her body showing? was she wearing a hijab? or a matter of her modesty. Why do we have to ask all those questions before we condemned the act of violence on that innocent soul, be it a child or an adult. Why don't we sympathized with the victim first before we think of asking those kind of questions?

Think of how she will be feeling when something like that happened, think the amount of courage she had for saying it out loud. Think of how filthy she might feel about her entire life. Think of how her world is turning upside down, and then look at her with a brother’s eyes and a father’s eyes. Then say something about it, now I’m wondering if that thought of decency will come up.

The problem is our brothers failed to look into it very well. It's not really about what she wears or not but, about who was doing the act. It's a bad habit just like a thief or something like that, it’s something in them that need to be killed. If you are not a rapist’s, then a naked woman can pass you by and you without doing nothing is that simple, some of us will even lower their gaze. Just like if you are not a thief, you will see something that is not yours and let it be as you saw it, simple!!!

Otherwise, if you have the mind of thief or a rapist then it will be a different story entirely. Even if she's covered or not, even if what he/she saw was heavily secured or not. The instinct won't let them; it will keep on eating that person inside until he/she act on it.

Especially a gang rape (that’s inhumane), and it has to be a group of friends, who shares the same ideas, their thinking is the same and they are all heartless.

Tell me where in any religion that said if you didn't dress well then the consequence is you getting gang raped by a group of miscreants. That excuse of dressing well is very low and insulting. What about the CHILD victim? What about in some cases daughters?

Our justice system need to be revisited and enforcement need to be strong.

Pandemic or Banditry???

It's bad enough that the government is fighting bokoharam and struggling to pass through the Pandemic. Then comes the mighty people of bush (Bandits) killing innocent people with no reason whatsoever. They will just open fire on any moving object or use their assault weapons. No-one knows what they really want apart from shooting guns and axing people destructively.

Price of goods and services are rising and when you asked why? Everyone's answer is that "it's corona woo" at least there's a reason for that but then what about the killings? They don't ask for money, they don't even give you any chance for nothing. All they want is to take the life out of their living souls, who does that for goodness sake?

@bulamacartoons gave a good illustration of what the nature of those places are, tagging the state's, the actual officer's in charge (Yes! They are in charge & untouchable), and the blood flow. People will suffer much worst before the almighty intervention, because we are really the masters of "African Time" delay upon delay until we reached confusion.

Government will say something order has been given and then a rumors will be circulating that soldiers were just deployed with an order to act anybody. So they will be there playing Candy crush or anything they usually do when waiting for those executive orders (Let them crush the real enemy's).

People are dying like insects in a fumigated house and security is something else. Thank God we don't really have much violence on our streets but our village's are having running blood on their streets or wherever the Bandits wanted to shower them with their Marcy.

something needs to be done as soon as possible before it's too late for the innocent, they've had enough of the treachery from those evil spirits. They have no sense of anything in their heads and no regards for humanity at all.

The Most Celebrated Eid of All Time

This sallah (Eid) is the most celebrated Eid of all time, upon all the isolation and the pandemic in mind people showed their colorful faces in pictures… You will agree with me if you are a whatsapp, Facebook, or Instagram user. You will find more than 30 beautiful stories in those media platforms.

There were controversies about moon sighting, some people observed Eid before the actual day because there was an error (when the rest of us are taking our 30th others were feasting). For the first time people were observing their Eid prayer at home, we never witnessed such in our life. Other events were hosted all in the name of the celebration, family & friends coming together. Maybe it is because people were locked in their homes for an unexpected long period of time and it made us want to socialize OR show our beautiful faces even more than before.

A normal day Eid, you will make & pick calls, send & return sms’s, visit family & friends, and then the social media.  Even before with Facebook in place people do post their Eid celebration pictures but now it’s an entire diverse thing. Where social media handles are turn into gorgeous galleries within two to three days of the Eid. This is always amazing to see happiness everywhere, the kind of happiness that will take your mind off COVID19 or the likes of it. I hope we have a better future after this, I hope we learn a lot from this, and I hope we will always have better leadership.
